U.S. Coast Guard Stations Assist Sailboat North of Diamond Shoals
On Friday, April 12, crews from both the U.S. Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet and Station Oregon Inlet responded to a call of a 32’ foot disabled sailboat that was located north of Diamond Shoals.
A Motor Lifeboat (MLB) crew from U.S. Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet initially took the sailing vessel into tow, until they were relieved by a MLB crew from Station Oregon Inlet. From there, the sailboat was successfully anchored near the old Bonner Bridge at Oregon Inlet until repairs to the vessel could be made.
The U.S. Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet posted the details in a social media statement, and added “Great teamwork by all!”
