Update: Suspect identified in hit-and-run incident at Dare County Justice Center in Manteo
The Dare County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the identification of the individual responsible for the hit-and-run incident that occurred on August 7, 2024, in the Dare County Justice Center Parking Lot. The suspect has been identified as James Kenneth Barber, a 35-year-old male from Elizabeth City, NC.
A warrant has been issued for Barber’s arrest, charging him with Misdemeanor Hit and Run. Anyone with information regarding Barber’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Dare County Sheriff’s Office at 252-475-5980, the Dare County Communications Center at 252-473-3444, or the Pasquotank County Communications Center non-emergency line at 252-331-1500.
