BUXTON — Clifford J. “Toddy” Morrow, 85, passed this life peacefullyon Jan. 1, 2011 at his home of 20 years in Buxton after a long illness.Born in South Heights, Pa., he was predeceased by his father, CliffordSr., and mother, Blanche McCoy Morrow. A graduate of Aliquippa HighSchool and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, he served as an Air ForceCadet in World War II. He was the 1984 Aliquippa “Man of the Year”award recipient.
A world traveler and adventurer, he was also an award-winning artist,sculptor, and carver. He retired from the Carnegie Museum of NaturalHistory in Pittsburgh after 38 years of service where he wasresponsible for the design and production of all exhibits, includingthe world-renown “Hillman Hall of Gems and Minerals” and “Polar World.”
In Buxton, he was a member of the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club and theBird Club. He sang in the Our Lady of the Seas choir where he was alsoa Eucharistic Minister, usher, and greeter.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Dolores Valle Morrow;daughter Janet Morrow Pate of Oak Park, Ill.; son Jeffrey Todd Morrowof Powder Springs, Ga.; grandsons Clifford David Pate of Charleston,S.C., and Blakeney Morrow Pate of Florence, S.C.; daughter-in-law LisaMorrow, and granddaughters Emily Katherine and Erin Elizabeth Morrow,all of Powder Springs; and his sister Joyce Folland of Akron Ohio,along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Seas Catholic Church inBuxton on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
