OCRACOKE– William Harrison Jemison, 78, CEO of Heyco Inc., passed away at hisresidence on Sunday, May 30, 2010. Born in Elizabeth, N. J., he was theson of the late Leroy Jemison and the late Leonie Perrot Jemison. Inaddition to his parents, he is predeceased by his two brothers, Roy andLee Jemison, and one grandson, Cord Jemison.
Mr.Jemison is survived by his wife, Barbara Pierro Jemison, of theresidence. Also surviving are three sons, William Jemison of Boulder,Colo., Michael Jemison of Wyomissing, Pa., Steven Jemison of Denver,Colo.; one daughter, Susan Jemison of Wyomissing, Pa.; one sister,Helen Springob of Leonia, N.J., and 10 grandchildren.
Amemorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 7, at OcracokeUnited Methodist Church in Ocracoke. In lieu of flowers, the familyrequests that donations be made to the Ocracoke Volunteer FireDepartment, P O Box 332, Ocracoke, NC 27960. Mr. Jemison admired andappreciated the fir fighters for all of their hard work and commitmentto the community at times of need.
