Dare Extension Master Gardeners Series At Fessenden Center
March 12, 2019 @ 1:00 pm EDT
Are you interested in gardening? Here’s a way to make your winter blues go away!
Start planning your spring garden now with the Library Garden Series presented by the NC State Extension’s Dare County Master Gardeners at the Dare County Library in Kill Devil Hills, and at the Fessenden Center in Buxton. All programs at the Kill Devil Hills Library will be on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m., and all programs at the Fessenden Center will be on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. Presentations will last approximately one hour, and people can choose to attend one or all of the programs that are of interest to them. For 2019, we hope you will join us for many brand new never-before offered programs as well as some of our most popular topics from years past.
The 2019 Fessenden Center series will kick off with Pollinators, a brand new program. We are dependent on pollinators for our food as well as supporting our ecosystem. This presentation addresses our need for pollinators and how we can help them. Pollinators will be presented at the Fessenden Center in Buxton on Tuesday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m.
Xeriscaping will teach you how to change the way you garden by learning how to use less water, by grouping plants with similar needs together, mulching, and reducing lawn areas. Join us for Xeriscaping on Tuesday, February 12 at the Fessenden Center in Buxton at 1:00 p.m.
Gardening tools can be expensive. The program, Garden Tool Sharpening will provide information about caring for your garden tools and methods for keeping them in good working condition. Join us for Garden Tool Sharpening on Tuesday, March 12 at the Fessenden Center in Buxton at 1:00 p.m.
All presentations are courtesy of the NC State Extension’s Dare County Master Gardeners Speaker’s Bureau, and are made possible in part by a grant from the Outer Banks Community Foundation. All programs are free and open to the public, and reservations are not required.
