ReBuild NC to Host Outreach Events for Islanders Impacted by Hurricane Matthew
Per the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, ReBuild NC will host a series of outreach events in Dare County in the coming weeks, offering in-person help to Hurricane Matthew survivors who have not yet submitted a program application for assistance.
Individuals are encouraged to dial 2-1-1 to schedule an appointment with an application specialist who can assist them in completing their program application for assistance during the events.
Per the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, these outreach events serve as an opportunity for Hurricane Matthew survivors to apply for Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds for housing repairs, homeowner reimbursement for work that homeowners have already completed on their own and/or other housing-related issues due to damage from 2016’s Hurricane Matthew.
The ReBuild NC program is the primary opportunity for individuals impacted by Hurricane Matthew to receive federal funding for long-term housing recovery. Other resources may be available for those survivors who do not qualify for CDBG-DR grant funds.
