SALVO–On Aug. 30, 2007, Carey Marie Le Sieur passed away after a courageous battle against cervical cancer.
She was survived by her husband of 14 years, Robin Gerald; her parents,Claude and Marie Le Sieur of Lewes, Del.; her mother-in-law, KatherineGerald; her sister, Jennifer Janssen and brother-in-law, Mark, and herniece Madison of Overland Park, Kan., and her aunt and uncle, Virginiaand John Maxwell of Livingston, Tex.
Carey attended Westhampton College of the University in Richmond,graduating summa cum laude. She attended Columbia School of Nursing andreceived her masters in nursing at the University of North Carolina.Her first job as a nurse was at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, asassistant head nurse in the emergency room. She was a traveling nursein Hawaii and was also employed by the Visiting Nurses Association inRehoboth Beach, Del. She spent more than 10 years employed as a family nurse practitioner at HealthEast Family Caremedical centers on Hatteras Island. She was an active member of St.Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church in Nags Head and a member of thealtar guild.
Carey loved dancing, gardening, music, cooking, and caring for thosearound her. She never forgot her friends’ birthdays. She enjoyedentertaining with friends, going to the beach, and her cats.
She loved her job at the clinic, the people she worked with, and all ofher patients. She was a generous wife, daughter, niece, sister, aunt,nurse, and dear friend. She lived her life to thefullest, embracing all that it had to offer. We celebrate her life.
