BUXTON– Barbara Midgett Smithwick, 76, died Friday May 31, 2013, inElizabeth City. Mrs. Smithwick was a retired health care workerand a member of Fair Haven United Methodist Church.
She waspredeceased by her mother and father, Luke Bradshaw and Ann MadesMidgett, her son, Bryan Midgett, and her brother, L.B. Midgett.
Survivingare a son, Kyle Smithwick of Buxton; two sisters, Debra Hooper andhusband Elvin of Buxton and Licia Kee and husband Stan; grandchildren:Christian Stowe and husband Michael, Megan Lyerly and husband Josh, andKyle Smithwick II; great-grandchildren: Ariana Stowe, Maddix Stowe,Kaya Lyerly and Julius Lyerly; nieces: Kristina, Shanna, and Charlotte,and nephews: Stan Kee II, Luke Midgett II, Brad and Charles. Mrs. Smithwick is also survived by her sister-in-law, Judy, of
Aservice of remembrance will be in Fair Haven United Methodist Church,which is meeting at the Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo Community Center onFriday, June 7, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Jim Bliss. In addition to flowers,memorials may be made to Fair Haven United Methodist Church, P.O. Box177, Rodanthe, NC 27968.
