AVON — Wallace L. Beckham, 84,died February22, 2011 at his home. He was born Aug. 13, 1926 in Winnsboro,S.C. He was the son of Wallace D. Beckham and FlorenceHennesseeBeckham. He loved his country and served in the U.S. Navy in World WareII. He was a Master Plumber, real estate broker, pilot andservedin the U.S. National Guard and Civil Air Patrol. He was alsotheformer owner of Outer Banks Beaches Realty.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Ann Seitz Beckham, he is survivedby two daughters, Pat Costa and husband, Rich, of Little Egg Harbor,N.J., Sandra Quidley and husband, Maurice (Reese) Quidley, of SouthMills, N.C.; two sons, Daniel and Brian Beckham of Avon; two sisters,Betty Geiger and husband, Herbert, of Sandy Run, S.C., and MargieColeman and husband, Pete, of Winnsboro, S.C.; two brothers, HowardBeckham and wife, Bobby Jean, of Winnsboro, S.C., and Connie Parker andwife, Penny, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, ninegreat-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Ewing Cemetery Chapel, Ewing, N.J., onSaturday, Feb. 26, at 12 noon. Burial will be in the EwingCemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory maybemade to U.S. Navy Armed Guard WWII Veterans, 115 Wall Creek Dr.,Rolesville, NC 27571, or to Dare County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 2477,Manteo, NC 27954.
