AVON — Marceline G.Gray, 88, of went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Anative of Avon, she was born on June 30, 1928 to the late Seymour andSara Gray and was the widow of Billy Gray. Marceline was a member ofSt. John United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Marceline is survived by one daughter, Janice Violet Horne, andhusband, Buddy; two grandchildren, Tammy Fulcher and Sandy Lord; andfive great-grandchildren, Amanda Horne, Kayla Fulcher, Taylor Fulcher,Cami Lord, and Corbin Lord. She is also survived by two brothers,Seymour Gray and BB Gray; six sisters, Phyllis Stowe, Sylvia Midgett,Olive O’Neal, Clara Williams, Gail Matney, and Edith Scarborough; andnumerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents andhusband, Marceline was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gray, andsisters, Goldie Gray, Garnet Stevenson, and Cathy Flynn.
A funeral will be held at 2 .p.m on Friday, Sept. 30, at St. JohnUnited Methodist Church with Rev. Gina Miller officiating. Privateburial will take place at the Gray family cemetery in Buxton. Thefamily will receive friends and relatives Thursday evening from 7 until8:30 p.m. at the church and immediately following the service in thechurch fellowship hall.
