OCRACOKE — Elizabeth Parsons, 81, died on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.Elizabeth was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Williams.She was the owner of the Pamlico Gift Shop for more than 30 years andwas a successful painter of folk art in her later years. Elizabeth wasa lifelong member of the Ocracoke Assembly of God, where she taughtSunday School for many years.
Elizabeth is survived by a daughter, Edna McKelvey; sons, Leonard andRoger Parsons; five grandchildren, Beverly, Matthew, Leslie, Christianand Amanda; four great-grandchildren, Bella, Dessire, Gage and Autumn;a sister, Della Gaskill; and two nephews, Monroe and Parker Gaskill.Along with her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband,Roy Parsons, and a son, Jim Parsons.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at OcracokeIsland Assembly of God with Pastor Ivey Belch officiating. The familywill receive friends and relatives following the service in thefellowship hall. Food will be received at the Ocracoke Island Assemblyof God fellowship hall beginning at 11 a.m.
