AVON– Mabel Ann O’Reilly, 56, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. Born inElizabeth City, N.C., she was the daughter of Mary Jane Scarborough andthe late Curtis Scarborough. She is survived by her daughter,Lindsey Nicole O’Reilly; longtime companion, Steve Sanford; sistersJuanita Scarborough and husband Hal, Patty Scarborough, and EstherScarborough; her niece, Kimberly Brinson and husband RodneyBrinson of Buxton, and nephew Hallas Carl Scarborough and StephanieDoshier of Nags Head. She also leaves behind a number ofgreat-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and family.
Mabel will be forever missed by the many who loved her. Herlaugh, smile, and beauty are just a few qualities that many wouldremember her most by.
A funeral service will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church inAvon on Thursday, July 30, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Benjamin Wolfofficiating. A reception will immediately follow the service. A privateburial will take place in the family cemetery in Avon. In lieu offlowers, donations may be made to Gallop Funeral Services, Nags Head,to assist the family with the funeral costs.
