SALVO– Stephen Hoyt “Steve” Law, 59, departed this world from his home onWednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve issurvived by his wife, Pamela Law; his four daughters, April Law Keaton,Stephanie Law Black, Donna Law, and Kimberly Chatham; his son, DerekLaw, his son-in-law, Charles Emmett Chatham IV, and close family Jerry,Doris, and JD. Steve was blessed in this life with seven grandchildren:Shelby, Jarrett, Chandler, Savannah, Claira, Percie, and Sylvia.
Stevebegan his life in Milton, W.Va., where he developed a passion forbaseball and hunting. Over the course of his life, he held many jobsbut found his calling as an auto mechanic and later as the owner of apool and spa company in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Steve was akind soul that helped everyone he met without expecting anything inreturn. He was also known for being straightforward — you always knewwhere you stood with Steve.
Steve’s family would like to thankall of their amazing friends in Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo who workedtirelessly to make sure the last 16 months were filled with love,peace, and comfort. The family also extends their gratitude to thestaff at UNC Cancer Center, the Outer Banks Hospital, the SECU FamilyHouse at Chapel Hill, Dare County Home Health and Hospice, Dare CountyEMS, and Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo Fire and Rescue for their serviceover the last year.
A celebration Steve’s life will be held onWednesday, Oct. 8, at 11a.m. at Fairhaven Church in Rodanthe with theReverend Jim Bliss officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions maybe made to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation at P.O. Box 442,Hatteras, North Carolina 27973.
