LisaLuanne Denson West was born April 25, 1958, to the late Robert Altonand Nancy Mixon Denson, at Parkview Hospital in Rocky Mount, N.C. Sheattended Fairview Elementary School and R. M. Wilson Jr. High School,graduating from Rocky Mount Senior High School with the Class of ’76.She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount.
Luanneattended Peace College and East Carolina University before receiving aB.A. degree from North Carolina Wesleyan College. During her life, shelived in Rocky Mount, Raleigh, Greenville, New Bern, Goldsboro, andHatteras, all in North Carolina. Prior to the birth of her son, sheworked as a legal assistant, a sales representative, and a collegerecruiter. She also substituted and taught school.
Recently, shemoved to the beautiful mountains of northern Georgia, where she passedaway on Sept. 17. She is survived by her husband, Tommy West Jr. ofEllijay, Ga.; one son, Robert Hayward “Ward” Cameron of Roanoke Rapids,N.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Ken (Karen) MillerJr. of Rocky Mount and Hatteras; nieces and nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy(Kate) Honey of Rocky Mount, Drs. Ken and Elizabeth Miller III ofTarboro, N.C.; and Kittie Denson Miller of Raleigh, N.C.; three auntsand one uncle, Mrs. W. A. (Betty) Denson, Mrs. Elwood (Georgia) Mixonof Rocky Mount, and Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy (Joan) Ward of the BattleboroCommunity; two grandnieces, two grandnephews, numerous cousins, anddevoted lifelong friends.
Luanne expressed the desire to haveher ashes spread on the Atlantic Ocean, and the family will comply withher wishes in a private ceremony at a later date.
