FRISCO– Howard Eugene Norville passed away peacefully in his home on July28, 2014. Howard was born March 17, 1931 in Rocky Mount, N.C., the sonof the late Herbert Norville and of the late Mattie SmithNorville. He graduated from Ahoskie High School in 1949. He wasdrafted into the Army in 1952. After serving briefly, he then went towork with his family in the local automotive business. He later ownedhis own tire dealership in Rich Square, N.C., where he raised hisfamily.
While in Rich Square, he joined severalorganizations. He served terms as vice president of the Jayceesand president of the Rotary Club. He was also a member of theRich Square Methodist Church and president of the Methodist Men’sClub. He was a 32nd degree mason and was master of the RichSquare Lodge for two terms. He became a Shriner at Sudan Temple in NewBern. Howard was also a member of the Rich Square Rescue Squadand firefighter for over 20 years.
Howard considered hisgreatest achievement marrying the love of his life, Alice White, andraising his two sons, Robert Craig Norville and the late Howard Belmont“Monty” Norville. His favorite night of the week was Saturday nightwhen he took his wife dancing at the Town and County in Williamston.
Howardand Alice moved to Frisco when they retired to be closer to Craig andhis family. He is survived by his wife, Alice White Norville, ofFrisco; his brothers and sister, Bryant Norville of Ahoskie, HCNorville of Texas, and Mary Campbell of Florida; his son, CraigNorville, and daughter-in-law, Zoe Sherman; his grandson, AlexNorville, and Alex’s mother, Denise Norville of Buxton.
