Dare County Public Works has revised hours for commercial haulers at the Buxton Transfer Station on Hatteras Island. Commercial haulers may no longer dump on Saturdays at the Buxton Transfer Station. Commercials haulers may dump Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Saturdays at the Manns Harbor Transfer Station located at 1603 Cub Road in Manns Harbor.
Due to the limited capacity of the roll-off boxes and the need to provide services to residential customers, revised hours for commercial haulers at the Buxton Transfer Station have been implemented. Final loads of construction and demolition (C&D) debris are hauled away on Friday morning. Once the two roll-off boxes remaining on site become full, there is no space for additional large volume dumping.
There are no changes for residential haulers. Residential haulers may dump: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
