Severe Weather Possible for Thursday Night
Severe weather with heavy downpours and damaging winds is possible for Thursday night, per a Wednesday update from the National Weather Service Newport / Morehead City Office.
Locally heavy rain and damaging winds are the main concerns, with wind gusts up to 50 mph along the coastline, but an isolated tornado in Eastern N.C. is possible as well.
The severe weather is expected to taper off by Friday, however, another storm system is currently forecast to impact the Outer Banks and Eastern North Carolina area later this weekend.
