The Outer Banks Hospital furthering visitor restrictions starting Monday
The Outer Banks Hospital is adjusting visitation restrictions at both the hospital and Outer Banks Medical Group practices effective 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4.
The news comes as North Carolina sets new COVID-19 records to start 2021.
The new visitor restrictions will prohibit visitors in inpatient units and the emergency department, unless a visitor is required for patients who are minors, or who fall within ADA guidelines, or require a visitor for clinical care or safety.
For Labor and Delivery: One healthy designated partner screened and masked at all times will be allowed. Partner must remain at the bedside unless visiting the café.
Medical Practices and Clinics: Visitors are prohibited unless a visitor is required for patients who are minors, or who fall within ADA guidelines, or require a visitor for clinical care or safety. Visitor may not switch out with another visitor.
End-of-life: Family members who are screened and masked may visit with guidance from care team and should call the unit for guidance.
COVID-19 Patients: Visitors are prohibited. Ask nurse for accommodations regarding virtual visits.
“We strongly encourage visitors to consider virtual visitation options, such as FaceTime, Zoom, Google Duo or phone calls,” the hospital said in an update Saturday. “Assistance with virtual visits, including iPads for patients without the necessary technology, is available on request. Virtual visitation is the safest way to stay connected with a loved one.”
VIRTUAL VISITS
