Hatteras, Ocracoke Ferry Routes Suspended due to High Winds
All ferry routes from Hatters and Ocracoke Islands have been suspended as of Friday at 2:00 p.m. due to high winds, per a recent update from the North Carolina Ferry System.
There is no current estimate on when operations can resume, however, strong winds are expected to continue through Saturday, per the National Weather Service.
As of 2:00 p.m. there was some blowing sand and rainwater reported on patches of N.C. Highway 12, and particularly south of Oregon Inlet on Pea Island, however, the highway was open and passable throughout both Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island.
