Plover, WI — Iva “Joyce” Midgett, age 81, of Plover, WI, died May 14, 2021, at home, while under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Joyce was born to the late William and Courtney (Gaskill) Scarborough in Hatteras, NC. She graduated from Cape Hatteras High School as valedictorian in 1958.
Joyce married Chester “Morgan” Midgett on July 11, 1958.
Joyce will be remembered for her loving, supportive, and quiet nature. She was the matriarch of the family. When there was news, good or bad, she was the first person to turn to. She was an avid doll collector, pet lover, and crafter. She enjoyed both painting and cross-stitching.
She is survived by her husband, Morgan; children, Sandra Holt and Cindy (Mike) Loyd; grandchildren, Alicia Daniel, Rachael Lytge, Steven Lytge, Trevor Holt, Deider Loyd, and Deizel Loyd. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Damien Morey, Ayden Lytge, and Gavin Lytge, and dearest friend Jackie Jennette.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 24, 2021, at Buxton United Methodist Church with Rev. Toni Wood officiating. A graveside committal will immediately follow at the Buxton Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives for a viewing one hour prior to the service.
