Excessive heat forecast for Thursday and Friday
Hot and humid weather will continue on Thursday and Friday, as temperatures rise into the high 80s with heat indices up to 100 degrees or more, per a recent update from the National Weather Service Newport / Morehead City office.
Per the National Weather Service, high temperatures will linger through Friday, as the heat index reaches 100-105 degrees on both Thursday and Friday afternoons.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for all areas of mainland eastern N.C. and the Outer Banks, except for Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands, from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday
