U.S. Coast Guard assists disabled vessel north of Diamond Shoals
The U.S. Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet received a phone call on Monday, August 1, regarding a vessel with three persons on board that was experiencing engine failure just north of the Diamond Shoals, per a recent update from the station.
Sector North Carolina put out a Marine Assistance Request Broadcast, but after no answer, a crew from Station Hatteras Inlet got underway at 4:00 p.m. to tow the vessel to shore.
The crew located the stranded vessel, and towed the vessel safely back by 10:45 p.m. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
