KILL DEVIL HILLS — Hannah Earley Toler Lupton was born on January 6, 1933, in Ahoskie, NC to the late, Willie Merton Earley Sr. and Edith Isolind Slaughter Earley. A longtime resident of Franklin, VA, she passed away on October 28, 2021. She was 88.
Hannah is survived by her daughter, Jewel Toler Johnson, son, Calvin Kent Toler (Paula), daughter Lori Lupton Lambden, Rachel Lupton Blankenship (Johnny), son Roy Lupton (Sherri), brother Willie Merton “Bill” Earley Jr., sister Deborah Earley Knight (E.B.). She is predeceased by her son, Steven Scott Toler, Husband, SGT. Calvin Henry Toler, husband George Bryan Lupton, two brothers Gene L. Earley, and Robert E. “Bob” Earley, and sister Edith Jewell Earley.
Children were her passion and Hannah was the proud grandmother to, Cal Toler, Amy Johnson Taylor and Katie Johnson Weaver, Daniel Lupton, Ryan Lupton, Rebecca Lupton, Will Lambdin, and Grace Blankenship. Great-grandmother to Calvin Andrew Toler, and Sydney Toler, Myles, and Memphis Taylor, Avery and Conner Lupton, Wilder Lane, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Hannah was a graduate of Ahoskie High School, class of 1951, and Paul D. Camp Community College. She was a retired licensed practical nurse. Hannah enjoyed spending her summers at the cottage on the Outer Banks with her grandchildren. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Franklin, VA.
