Our Lord and Savior called his beloved child Grayling Arnell Daniels, caring brother, uncle, cousin, and friend home. He left this world suddenly on Monday, August 1, 2022, at his home in Williamston, NC.
Grayling was a native of Manteo, NC. He was born March 6, 1962, to the late John Langston Daniels, Jr. and Beulah Berry Daniels Bryant. He was a graduate of Manteo High School and Chowan Community College. He was resolute, a fantastic member of the Manteo High School marching band and wrestling team. He was an active member of the Manteo Lions Club. Grayling was employed by the NC Department of Transportation Ferry Division in Manns Harbor, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Langston Daniels, Jr. and Beulah Daniels Bryant; stepfather, Daniel Brown Bryant; grandparents, John Langston Daniels, Sr. and Mary Daniels and Lindbergh Berry and Jessie M. Berry; great-grandparents, George and Nora Daniels and Ralph and Catherine Midgett; nephew, Tyler S. Govan; uncle, Delton Simmons, Sr.; aunts, Novella M. Burton and Sylister M. Berry; and uncle, Wallace “Tink” Berry.
Grayling leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Terrance Daniels, Sr. and John K. Daniels both of Manteo, NC; four sisters, Karen M. Daniels of Manteo, NC, Clarissa Mackey, Emma Bryant both of Raleigh, NC, and Tiny B. Parks (Tony) of Lagrange, NC; nephews, Terence Daniels, Jr., Tyhee Mackey, Trey Harris, Dakota Daniels, and Cody Berns; nieces, Sheena Daniels, Tempest Daniels, Jayonna Harris, Silver, and Aylina; great-nephew, Carmeron Mackey; great-nieces, Destiny, Ariana, Altis, Cali, Caylee, and Cobi; uncles, Charles Berry (Emma), Michael Berry (Sherry) of Manteo NC, Linda D. Berry of Raleigh NC, Vanessa B. Golden (Henry) of Bonaire, GA, Victoria B. Spencer (Harvey) of Raleigh, NC; aunt, Ella Mae Simmons of Manteo, NC; aunt, Sarah Banks of Currituck, NC; aunt, Barbara Pledger of Manteo, NC; uncle, “Ralphie” Berry; great-aunt, Cora Mae Thompson of Somerville, NJ; good friends, Nat Burton and Delton Simmons, Jr. of Powells Point, NC; special friend, Vanessa Manning of Williamston, NC; Kirsten Lee, Social Worker for the Blind; and a host of cousins, other family, and friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Vanessa Berry Golden officiating. Friends and relatives are welcome to visit the family at the home of Karen Daniels, 1061 George Daniels Rd, Manteo, NC 27954.
