Power restored to southern Hatteras Island and Ocracoke after Friday morning outage
Power has been restored to Frisco, Hatteras village, and Ocracoke Island after a Friday morning outage that affected the southern Outer Banks, per an update from the Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative.
The outage was reported at 6:05 a.m. on Friday and was due to a downed wire near the Hatteras Civic Center that caused a pole fire. The Hatteras Volunteer Fire Department and Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative (CHEC) responded to the incident.
Any Frisco, Hatteras village, or Ocracoke Island resident whose power did not return at 8:50 a.m. on Friday is advised to call CHEC at 866-511-9862.
