CHESAPEAKE — Maggie Orenda Midgett Smith “Sammi”, 80, of Chesapeake, VA died Monday, December 19, 2022, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

A native of Rodanthe, NC, she was born November 5, 1942, to the late Carethia and David B. Midgett.

Sammi is survived by her partner of 49-years, Mack Hairr; son, Willie Blivins Smith; grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren Smith; stepdaughter, Aletta Butler “Cissy”; nieces, Linda Midgett and Martha Caldwell; nephews, David Midgett and Joey Midgett; several cousins and extended family members. She was friends to everyone.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2023, in the family cemetery in Waves, NC.
