Unregistered sex offender arrested in Buxton, per Dare County Sheriff’s Office
On Monday, April 10, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible out-of-state sex offender who was in the Outer Banks area and had failed to register.
With the information provided, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On April 11, Dare County Sheriff’s Office deputies working the C-District observed a vehicle matching the description of the offender. A traffic stop was conducted on N.C. Highway 12 near Conner’s Supermarket in Buxton, N.C.
Jeffrey Patrick Carrigan, M/51, of Chaplin, CT, was arrested for (F) Fail to Register/Sex Offender and was given a $35,000 secured bond. The National Park Service assisted with the vehicle stop.
