Sandbar must be used to access Cape Point due to flooding of ORV corridor
Drivers interested in going to the open portion of Cape Point must use the sandbar south of ORV Ramp 44 to access the area, due to flooding within the ORV-only corridor, per an update from the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The sandbar is also open to beach walkers.
Cape Hatteras National Seashore staff are in the process of installing safety warning signs near the entrance to the flooded ORV corridor as of Wednesday morning, June 22.
