KITTY HAWK — Morjorie Lorraine “Margie” Williams, loving matriarch, devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 84 on April 5, 2024, at her home in Kitty Hawk, NC. Margie was born on March 31, 1940, in Norfolk County, VA.
Margie’s life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments spent with her family. She attended Churchland High School in Portsmouth, VA, and went on to have a fulfilling career at M.O.S Electric before retiring after 20 years of dedicated service.
Known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit, Margie found joy in being a homemaker, and her passion for gardening, sewing, crocheting, and travel was evident to all who knew her. She was also a proud supporter of Ducks Unlimited and had a keen eye for collecting Pfaltzgraff pieces. Above all, Margie cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
Margie is survived by her beloved husband Thomas Hurdle; daughter Denise Honeycutt of Gates, NC; sons Jay Williams and his wife Sheila Williams of Kitty Hawk, NC, and Bryan Hurdle of Edenton, NC; grandchildren, April McCully, Savanna Williams, Morjorie Sells, Tylyn Sells, Selena Williams, Jason Williams, Bryan Hurdle Jr., and Parker Hurdle; great-grandchildren Lane Hearn and JD McCully; sister Carolyn Honeycutt; and brothers Michael O’Brien and Patrick O’Brien.
In her journey through life, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry P. Williams, her parents Virginia Brickhouse O’Brien and Charles M. Larkin, and her brother Joseph O’Brien.
A memorial service to celebrate Margie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Twiford Colony Chapel in Manteo, NC. The family will welcome friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place in the Hurdle Family Cemetery in Belvidere, NC.
