Donna Neace Brady, passed suddenly yet peacefully on May 1, 2024. She was born September 11, 1946, in Petersburg, VA. Donna was preceded in death by her mother Cora Davis Moody, father Neil Moody, and daughter, Chantel Love Brady. She was a beacon of light and warmth to both her family and her community that she dearly loved.
For many years, Donna taught preschool in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, finding joy in seeing her former students and their children out and about in OBX. As an accomplished artist, her interior designs and murals still grace businesses, and her angel ornaments continue to adorn countless Christmas trees. Donna’s zest for life led her through various passions—from founding the Chester Twirlettes (a school for baton twirlers) in her late teens and early adulthood to competitively showing Tennessee Walking horses. Later, she embraced Shag dancing, winning awards and becoming a member of the Society of Stranders (SOS), with a “True Shag Lover” marker placed in front of her favorite Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach.
Donna was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders and had an unwavering love for Jimmy Buffett. Her hearty and joyful laugh could light up any room, and her kindness, generosity, and nurturing spirit were witnessed by so many. She loved fiercely, without judgment and cherished all as evidenced by her leadership and volunteerism in several organizations.
Donna’s love extended to her son, Raymond (Ashley) Neace III, granddaughter, Aliyah Carr, great-grandson Buxton, and her loving family in Virginia, all who will proudly carry her legacy of kindness and joy.
The family wishes to offer sincerest thanks and appreciation to Donna’s closest friends, who have been an unbelievable source of kindness, support, and comfort during this time.
A service to celebrate Donna’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the on-line registry at www.gallopfuneralservices.com
