KILL DEVIL HILLS — Barbara Haywood Duvall, aged 85, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, ascended into heaven on May 31, 2024. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born January 28, 1939, to Clara and Ernest Haywood of Colington, NC. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Christopher Duvall, grandson Jeremy Saporito, sister Janelle Perry, and brother Gaskill Austin.
Barbara leaves behind her loving husband of 67 years, Robert W. Duvall, daughter Holli Duvall Ellis, son-in-law Bryan Ellis, grandson Perry Ellis, all of Kitty Hawk, NC, granddaughter Caroline Duvall of Chesapeake, VA, and daughter-in-law Susan Johnson of Colington, NC. She also leaves her precious niece Sharon Perry Sullivan, nieces and nephews, Janelle, Freddy, Kathy, and Christine, and sister and brother-in-law Rad and Margie Tillett of Kitty Hawk, NC, along with many relatives, friends, neighbors, and her family in faith at Liberty Christian Fellowship in Colington, NC.
Barbara loved many things: her savior, Jesus, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her family with utter unconditional devotion. She had a spirit of giving and lived her life in love and light, spreading the word of the gospel. Her want to do for others without reciprocation is her legacy and her service to the Lord.
She had an amazing gift of retaining Bible scripture and verse and was wise in sharing her knowledge with others. She was a fabulous cook and a beautiful woman inside and out. She was renowned for her homemade sweet potato biscuits and cakes. Barbara will be truly missed here on earth, but she is rejoicing in heaven with all her loved ones passed.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Liberty Christian Fellowship in Colington, NC, followed by a graveside committal service at Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk, NC.
Psalms 17:15 – “As for me, I will behold Thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness.”
