KILL DEVIL HILLS — Lou Joyce Jordan was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 25, 2024. She was born on October 20, 1932, in Dunn, North Carolina, and was a long-time resident of Kill Devil Hills, NC.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Matha Norris, two brothers, and two sisters all of Dunn, NC.
She was a member of The Ark Church in Nags Head, NC. Her sweet spirit and life lived with her eyes fixed firmly on Jesus assured that she touched many lives as a Christian witness. Her prayers and her pound cakes were sources of comfort and sustenance to her family and members of her community.
Joyce is survived by her loving family: four children, Rocco DeRentis, Jr. (Cherrie), Capria Riddick (Roy), Dario DeRentis (Sidney Jessup), and Felecia Caballero (Bruno); six grandchildren, Ricky Williams (Kelly), Eliza DeRentis, Bethany Overton (Joel), Noah DeRentis Klabin, Hannah Crawford (Thomas), and Abby Salyer (Hayden); and seven great-grandchildren, Kensie and Emmy Williams, Tommy and Timmy Crawford, Isla Joy and River Overton, and Henry Salyer.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to Adoration Hospice and Peak Resources, with heartfelt thanks to Christine and Tanya, for the compassionate care provided to Joyce.
The family will receive friends and relatives for a viewing and visitation on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Twiford Colony Chapel. A funeral will be held at 11:00 am on July 30th, at The Ark Church. Private burial will take place in Manteo Cemetery.
