Hatteras Island trash collection schedule may be impacted by Tropical Storm Debby

Due to the potential for heavy rain, localized flooding, and some gusty winds from Tropical Storm Debby, Dare County Public Works has announced that residential and commercial trash collection scheduled to take place this week could potentially be impacted—particularly in the villages on Hatteras Island.

Public Works crews intend to make every effort to perform trash collection; however, if conditions become dangerous for sanitation truck drivers due to roadway weather impacts, trash collection will not occur.
