Radio Hatteras’ WHDX 99.9 FM is moving to Waves
Radio Hatteras has received Federal Communications Commission permission to move WHDX 99.9 FM to Waves while WHDZ 101.5 FM remains in Buxton.
Once the Waves move is completed about the first week of August, Radio Hatteras will broadcast to all of Hatteras Island. To facilitate the move, the Radio Hatteras technical crew turned off 99.9 FM early Thursday morning, July 16.
Radio Hatteras continues to broadcast its eclectic selection of music, community announcements and weather updates on 101.5 FM. The station is also streaming through its website www.radiohatteras.org.
The move to Waves is facilitated by a equipment grant from the Outer Banks Community Foundation and the cooperation of the Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative.
Radio Hatteras is a community radio station supported by members, donations and grants and operated by volunteers. The station is located at 49815 NC 12 in Buxton. Tax-deductible contributions to Radio Hatteras may be mailed to P.O. Box 339, Frisco, NC 27936.
