Artrageous’ theme this year is Wander The World Of Art, which is inspired by the event’s headlining act the Saakumu Dance Troupe from Ghana.

“When we began planning for this year’s Artrageous, we knew we wanted to elevate the event as a part of Dare Arts’ 50th anniversary celebration,” said Dare Arts Program Director Robert Rogers. “Having Saakumu join us at Artrageous will be such a special opportunity for families to experience traditional and contemporary Ghanaian dance and music. In addition to this unique performance, guests are invited to immerse themselves in creating art inspired by various countries from across the globe, as well as the history and culture of the Outer Banks.”

Artrageous is a free, family-friendly event that includes interactive art activities, live music, vocal and dance performances by local students as well as an artisan market, and food vendors.

Community partners, organizations and businesses interested in hosting a kids art activity and artisans (including young artists) interested in selling their works at Artrageous can find the applications online at DareArts.org/artrageous. The application deadline is Friday, April 4.

Fork ‘et Me Not, Island Snowball, and other food vendors will be selling snacks, cool drinks, and sweet treats onsite all day.

The Artrageous Kids Art Festival is Dare County’s longest-running kids art program. The Artrageous Youth Scholarship Fund awards one scholarship to a Dare County high school senior intending to study fine art or the performing arts in college each year.

Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring the 36th Annual Artrageous Kids Art Festival should contact Dare Arts Executive Director Jessica Sands at DareArtsInfo@gmail.com.

In 2025, Dare Arts is commemorating its 50th anniversary by celebrating its past, present, and future. Dare Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization dedicated to encouraging the arts in Dare County through advocacy, enrichment, and opportunity.
