Hatteras Village’s annual meeting and dinner will be held on Wednesday, January 24, at 6:00 p.m., and Hatteras residents are invited to come out to meet and mingle with neighbors, and to discuss past and upcoming events occurring in the village community and beyond.
“What we do [at the annual meeting] is talk about what we did over the past year and how it went, and also talk about the things we do that some may not be aware of,” said Karla Jarvis of the Hatteras Village Civic Association.
For example, in the past year, concerns were raised to Dare County officials about the helipad at the old Hatteras Village Medical Center – both its deteriorating condition, and its unsightly appearance. “They have done work, cleaned it up, and assessed the helipad [to ensure it is in functional shape],” said Jarvis.
Guest speakers from local organizations, like the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, may also be in attendance to shed light on issues that affect the Hatteras Village and Hatteras Island communities. The event will also feature a drawing for cash prizes, and a free and homecooked dinner of Hatteras Jambalaya or Rigatoni Bake with salad, garlic bread, and dessert.
The event takes place at the Hatteras Village Civic Center, and all are welcome. For more information and updates, visit the Hatteras Village Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HatterasVillage/.
