On Tuesday, May 9, Surf or Sound Realty officially opened its third office in the heart of Hatteras village, with representatives from Surf or Sound Realty, the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, and the local Hatteras Island community in attendance.
The new property management and real estate office may look familiar to Hatteras village regulars, as the 2004 structure was once the home of the Dancing Turtle Coffee Shop. After roughly a year of renovations, however, the office will now serve as a home base for Hatteras-based homeowners and guests as Surf or Sound undergoes an island-wide expansion.
“This is just another milestone in our growth,” said Wendy Hoekwater, VP of Marketing and Reservations. “Being in Hatteras allows us to better serve our owners, guests, and our local community in this area.”
“We have [also] doubled our operations team during our recent expansion,” she added. “This is a whole new era of hospitality management… When people stay in our homes, we want them to have a wonderful experience, and we want them to come back.”
The Hatteras office is Surf or Sound Realty’s third office, with two larger offices stationed in Salvo and Avon. Though the Hatteras office is smaller than its northern counterparts, it will be able to tackle guest and owner services, as well as real estate sales.
The new office opening doubled as a birthday celebration of sorts, as Surf or Sound Realty is also celebrating 45 years of operation on Hatteras Island.
