With less than a week before the grandest love event of the year, many have already made plans to celebrate their special Valentine. Dinky’s Waterfront Restaurant in Hatteras village will reopen for the first time since November 2018, just in time to help lovers enjoy a romantic soundside dinner. They are offering up a multi-course meal complete with appetizer, salad, and a choice between two soups. For the entrée, valentines have the choice between seafood lasagna, grilled porkchop, grilled tuna, or baked grouper. Even if you and your loved one cannot celebrate on the actual day, it’s no problem. Dinky’s will be open Wednesday, February 13 through Saturday, February 16 from 5-9 p.m. to set the mood for your special day.

Café Pamlico also offers a luxurious soundside dining experience. Located inside the Inn on Pamlico Sound in Frisco, they will be serving a five-course meal with your choice of two splendid options for each course on both February 14 and 16. The price is $60 per person with an optional wine pairing or bottle of prosecco for $20 per person. As always, they offer a 20% discount for locals, as well as a 10% discount for homeowners, who check in at the café on Facebook. Continuing their tradition of Thursday night wine tastings, the recently established Pamlico Deli will host a free wine tasting from 6-7:30 p.m. on Cupid’s birthday. They will follow this up with a delightful dinner of filet mignon, Caesar salad, and chocolate-covered strawberries from 7:30-9 p.m. for just $20 per person. Already developing a reputation for its incredible sandwiches, wines, beers and rotating specials, this family-run business based in Frisco is becoming a favorite spot that locals love.

Boardwok South, located in the tri-villages, just recently opened back up for the season and will host romantics on February 14-16 from 5-8:30 p.m. with $10 specials nightly. They offer traditional Asian cuisine with a local twist. With a unique menu ranging from spring rolls to lo mein, and a wide selection of beer and wine, this place will impress your beloved. If you and your honey enjoy the night life, Turner’s High Moon Bar in Avon will be open during their regular hours from 5 p.m. – 2 a.m. with the kitchen open until midnight. They will also feature live music and dinner specials to set the tone for a romantic evening. Whether you love or hate Valentine’s Day, Turner’s is always a rocking good time.

If you’re the type that likes to celebrate early in the day, however, the Fessenden Center in Buxton will be hosting a senior luncheon catered by the incomparable Dee Callahan at noon on February 14.
