Episode 3 of The Outer Edge series debuts online
The third episode of The Outer Edge docuseries recently made its debut on YouTube, with a spotlight on the Outer Banks’ music scene.
The episode “Local Notes” features singers/musicians/artists Tshombe Selby, Dan and Laura Martier, Ed Tupper, and Dawn Moraga and Willow Rea.

The six-part series, produced locally by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau (OBVB), is part of the organization’s “ongoing commitment to responsible travel and the vibrant local community it serves.”
The documentaries explore the heart and soul of the Outer Banks of North Carolina through the stories of OBX locals who pour their passions into photography, commercial fishing, boat building, crafting local products, analyzing weather patterns, and fueling the grassroots music scene.
The project has been in the works for more than a year, and 23 Dare County residents were interviewed and followed on camera during the endeavor, as they shared their passions for the Outer Banks, and their connections to the community. Three local residents also participated behind the camera, and assisted with production of the series.
“Our hope with these films is that they serve as a point of pride for locals, a reminder of why we work so hard to live here,” said OBVB Executive Director Lee Nettles. “For potential guests, the videos are intended to share what it truly means to be a part of the Outer Banks community, the respect for people and place, and the sense of responsibility to preserve and protect it for future generations.”
