BUXTON – Leon Edgar Jennette Sr., 76, passed away at Wilson MedicalCenter on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011. He was the son of the lateJunius L. Jennette Sr. and the late Leona Gaskins Jennette. Leonloved his family very much. He was well known in thecommunityand was always eager to lend a helping hand. Mr. Jennetteproudlyserved his country in the U.S. Coast Guard, was a lifetime member ofthe Cape Hatteras Anglers Club, a member of Duck Woods Country Club,and attended Lighthouse Assembly of God in Buxton. Inaddition tohis parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Junius L. Jennette, Jr.
Leon is survived by his two daugthers, Rossie Jackson and husband Kevinof Buxton and Leanne Woods and husband Lonnie of Plano, Tex., and hisson, Leon E. Jennette Jr. and wife Nicole of Buxton. Also left tocherish his memory are his eight grandchildren, K.D. Jackson, KristenMidgett, Hunter Woods, Annafaith Woods, Sophie Woods, Taylor Woods,Dallas Woods, and Trey Jennette.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, at LighthouseAssembly of God in Buxton, NC. The family will receivefriendsand family for a time of visitation at Twiford Funeral Home inHatteras, Wednesday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
