AVON – Kenneth (Birdman) Conley,58, diedFriday, Feb. 25, 2011 at his residence. Born in Mechanicsburg, Pa., hewas the son of Shirley June MacIntire and the late Richard Harry Conley.
Kenn was a loving and devoted husband to Patricia Marie Conley as wellas a father, grandfather, and friend to many. After retiringtothe Outer Banks and the beaches he loved, he became a larger-than-lifepersonality known to many. His happy demeanor served him wellashe volunteered for the Hatteras Island Meals Program, worked as aadvocate for the beaches, and entertained children everywhere as “BlueBeard” the pirate with live macaws named Squawker and Sassy for eventsbefriending young and old islanders. He will be missed.
In addition to his wife and mother, Kenn is survived by his son,Chadwick Sebastian Conley, his wife Sharon, and their son, Evan, ofWestmont, N.J.; his niece Shirley Ann Murry and husband, Dave, ofStrasburg, Pa., and his brother, Walter H. Conley of Harrisburg, Pa.
