Alvin Daniel “Danny” Willis, 64, of Elizabeth City, N.C., entered intoeternal rest on Sept. 10, 2012. Danny was born Sept. 24, 1947 inWashington, N.C., to Daniel C. Willis and Mildred Stowe Willis.
Danny was a graduate of Great Bridge High School Class of 1965. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in piano from ShenandoahUniversity Conservatory of Music. He went on to teach piano,which was one of his greatest passions. He loved working invarious churches as a pianist. Anyone fortunate enough to haveheard him perform will never forget his beautiful music. Danny wasloved by all those who knew him. His music will forever be in ourhearts.
Danny is survived by his loving parents, Daniel and Mildred Willis ofHatteras; two brothers, Norman Willis and Robert (Darlene) Willis; onesister, Marlene (Allen) Burrus; three nephews, Bobby Willis, JoshuaBurrus, and Jonathan Burrus; three nieces, Dori (John) Slaughter,Michelle (Michael) Summerlin, and Jennifer (Zachary) Hackley; and manygreat nephews and great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Faye Willis, and his sister in law, Johnnie Belinda Willis.
A funeral Service was held on Friday, Sept. 14, at the HatterasAssembly of God Church in Hatteras. Burial will be in the familycemetery.
Twiford Funeral Home, Hatteras, is assisting the family with arrangements.
