BUXTON– Doris Lee Jennette, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. She was bornin Cordova, Md., to the late Edgar and Margaret Whitby Sard. It was inMaryland that she met Nasa Jennette Jr. and moved to Hatteras Islandsoon after. They were married for 35 years. Doris was a loving wife,mother, and grandmother. She was an exceptional baker and knew how toshare. Her cookies will be remembered and missed by everyone whoenjoyed them. She lived a Christian life and loved the beach and thelighthouses along the Outer Banks.
She is survived by herhusband, Nasa F. Jennette Jr.; her daughter, Juanita Long and herhusband, Wade, of Mardela Springs, Md.; her sons, Timothy Jennette andwife Cindy of Buxton, Nasa F. Jennette III and wife Janice, also ofBuxton, Grant Jennette and wife Linda of Virginia Beach, Va.; hersister, Barbara Pangburn and husband, Ken, of Lakeland, Fla.; herbrother Billy Sard and wife, Mary, of Camden, Del.; grandchildren,Desmond Brown and wife Cindy, Jason Brown and wife Laura, RyanJennette, and Lauren Jennette; great grandchildren, Elijah, Jason,Desmond, and Ava. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by herbrother, Buddy Sard.
A funeral service will be held at BuxtonUnited Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. A visitationwill be held at the church starting at 1 p.m. until the start of theservice on Saturday.
