FRISCO– Joyce Midgett Rucker, 81, passed away on Feb. 14, 2014 at ColonyRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Joyce was born inNorfolk, Va., to the late Theodore and Ersie Midgett. She was a memberof the Buxton United Methodist Church and the Order of the EasternStar.
Besideher parents, Joyce is predeceased by her husband, George Howard Rucker,Jr., and two brothers, Harold Midgett Sr. and Anderson Midgett. She issurvived by a daughter, Allison Rucker of Kill Devil Hills; two sons,Keith Rucker and wife, Janet, of Tampa, Fla., and Roger Rucker ofFrisco; a brother, Stockton Midgett and wife, Libby, of Hatteras; asister-in-law, Aldena Midgett of Mooresville, N.C.; threegrandchildren, Jodee, Jameson and Chad, and a host of nieces andnephews.
Visitationwill be held at Buxton United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Feb. 18,2014 at 1 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. withRev. Ken Davenport officiating. There will be a reception at thechurch following the service. Burial will take place at theMidgett Family Cemetery in Rodanthe. In lieu of flowers, memorialdonations may be made to the Buxton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box310, Hatteras, NC 27943.
