RODANTHE– Myrna B. Peters, 73, a long-time resident of Rodanthe, passedaway on May 22, 2014 in Sebring, Fla. In 1971 she and herlate husband, Thomas D. Peters, opened the Sea Chest Gift Shop. Now awell-known establishment for antiques, gifts, and jewelry, the storehas served Cape Hatteras residents and visitors for over 43years. Myrna was very involved in community activities and was a supporter of the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station,Fair Haven Youth, and Chicamacomico Fire and Rescue. Myrna willbe greatly missed by family, friends, and many long-termcustomers. Myrna is survived by her brother, Warner Minor, andsister, Dr. Warna Gillies, as well as extended family and severalnieces and nephews: Angela Jordan, Sarah Minor, Neal Gillies, and LoganMinor. A memorial service will be held at the Fair HavenMethodist Church on Saturday, June 28, at 10 a.m.
