FRISCO– Betty Gollahon May, 78, passed away Aug. 9 in her residence. Bettywas a loving wife to Robert C. May for 56 years until his death in2011. Betty was born in St. Louis, Mo. After graduating from HighSchool in Rolla, Mo., she married Bob. Their years together were filledwith fond memories of each place they lived, which included Aiken,S.C.; Fairfield, Conn.; Chadds Ford, Pa., and Frisco. Bettyworked as a realtor in Fairfield for several years but devoted most ofher life to the love of her husband and children. In 1993, Bob andBetty moved to Frisco, discovering and enjoying life on the OuterBanks, which included volunteering at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse,Cape Hatteras Anglers Club, Hatteras Island Quilters Club, and BuxtonUnited Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son RobertC.(Chuck) May Jr. and wife Robbin of Danbury, Conn., with theirchildren, Robert and Rachel, and her son David B. May and wife Connieof Manteo with their children, Lauren and David Jr., and fourgreat-granddaughters.
A service to celebrate the life of Betty will be held at Buxton United Methodist Church on Monday Aug. 18, 2014 at 11 a.m.
