Marci Allison Oden

HATTERAS — Marci Allison Oden, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.

Bornon Dec. 5, 1972, Marci was a graduate of the North Carolina School ofthe Arts in Winston-Salem, N.C., and The Maryland Institute College ofArt in Baltimore, MD.  Aside from her art, she loved to cook, theoutdoors, tandem surfing and anything to do with horses.  She wasmost recently employed at Fox Farms in Virginia Beach, Va., taking careof horses, and she also did volunteer charitable work with Wahine SurfClub.

Sheis survived by her parents, Jeff and Kathleen Oden of Hatteras; mother,Linda Midgette of Virginia Beach; grandmothers, Josephine Oden ofHatteras and Emily Royston of Severna Park, Md., as well as numerousaunts, uncles, and cousins from the Oden, Midgette, Austin and Roysterfamilies.  She is also survived by many friends from Hatteras andWahine Surf Club in Virginia Beach, and her special friends, RogerCarrera and James Durbin of Virginia Beach.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at Hatteras United Methodist Church.

Inlieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to YellowhouseMinistry of Hatteras Island or Dare Challenge of Dare County, N.C.
