AVON — Robert Paul Gray, 63, passed away peacefully at his home onWednesday, Oct. 14, following a brief battle with cancer. He wassurrounded by his family.
Robert Paul was born on Jan. 1, 1952 to Seymour R. and Sara M Gray. Hewas predeceased by his sisters, Golda Gray, Garnet Stephenson, andCathy Flynn.
Robert served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps and returned home toKinnakeet, where he was a talented carpenter for many years. Robertloved his family, the village of Kinnakeet, and all of the people thatmade it home. His smile, boisterous laugh, and famous Sunday dinnerswill live forever in our hearts.
Robert is survived by his brothers, Bannister Boyd “BB” Gray ofthe home, and Seymour Gray of Avon; and by his sisters, Marceline Grayof Avon, Phyllis Stowe of Avon, Sylvia Midgett of Waves, Olive O’Nealof Avon, Clara Williams of Buxton, Gail Matney of Avon, and EdithScarborough of Avon, and many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives.
A funeral and committal service with military honors will be held atSt. Johns Methodist Church in Avon on Friday, Oct. 16, at 3 p.m. Pastor Ben Wolf will officiate. The interment will beprivate.
