Jimmie Lee Jones died on June 1,106. Jimmie was a long time resident of Albuquerque, N.M., with herhusband, Robert Davis Jones, who preceded her in death in 2006. Originally from Anson, Texas, she met and married Bob Jones. They wereboth from early Texas families. They moved to Gallup, N.M., inthe early ’50s and finally to Albuquerque in the early 1960s. Jimmie lived through some tough health challenges in her time. She was a breast cancer survivor in the ’60s and finally had years ofkidney dialysis. She liked to brag that she was the longest livingdialysis patient at Lovelace Clinic. She was a strong woman and herpioneer stock was very evident.
Jimmie was a resident of Los Colinas Retirement Village until 2014 whenshe moved to Frisco, N.C., and the home of her daughter, BrendaBuciorelli. Her friends and family were amazed that she wound upat the beach after spending her life in the arid southwest! She enjoyedseeing the rain and storms that come with beach living and thebeautiful azaleas, crape myrtles, and camellias.
Jimmie leaves behind three children and their spouses – Linda and ClevePillifant of Palmyra, Va., Joel and Jennifer Jones of El Paso, Texas,and Brenda and Albert Buciorelli of Frisco. She felt blessed to havelived to see her children marry and have families. She issurvived by five grandchildren – Andrew and wife Tiffany Pillifant,Melissa and her husband Courtney Whitehead, Jessica, Bobby and BrettJones and six great-grandchildren — Jacob, Lael, Nathan, Ruby, Oscarand Miles.
At Jimmie’s request, inurnment with Bob at Santa Fe National Cemetery will follow at a later date.
