MANTEO– Michael Wayne Keller, 73, of Manteo NC, died June 9, 2017 at hishome. A native of Kitty Hawk Village, Mike was the son of Earland Belinda Keller. Mike was employed with Atlantic RichfieldCompany after graduating from East Carolina University. In 1976,he returned home and started “The Rope Shop” which became a leadingsupplier of commercial fishing supplies for the East Coast. Withthe help of his family and dedicated employees, he operated thisbusiness for 40 years.
Mikewas full of life, right up until his death. All through his lifehe enjoyed exploring new places, whether it be for the naval reserves,buying trips for his shop, vacationing with his family, or missiontrips in developing countries. Mike will be remembered for hislove of family and friends, his business aptitude, and his appreciationfor boats and time on the water.
Mikeis survived by his daughters, Toni Perrone and Belinda Sukeena, hissister, Sandra Sawyer, and his grandchildren, Kane, Sam, Zeke Gabby,and Danya. He was predeceased by his son Michael, and his sisterViolet.
Visitationwill be held at Twiford Funeral Home in Manteo on Sunday, June 11thfrom 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pmon Monday, June 12th at Bethany United Methodist Church and followed bya graveside service at 4:00 pm at Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk.
